Description
IROST is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education
of Iran,and has become one of the most important governmental research
centersin Iran. Its commitment is to improve the scientific and
technical skills in boththe private and public sector by supporting
the scientists and researchersin technical and financial aspect.
Today
, research is one of the significant elements of economical , social
and cultural
developments of countries .there is some organizations and commities
which are
responsible for research and planning.
In Iran ,after revoloution scientifice and industrial independence
had been specially
considered , and in addition to govermental institutes many experts
and craftsmen
became interested in research and invention too.
in 1980 ,iranian research organization for science and technology
was established
inorder to attract and train the capabilities in science and industry
and financial and
intellectual support of inventors and researchers .
Since 1985 , accomplishing the half_industrial plans was added to
the other duties of
IROST, and an extra budget was allocated for it.

support inventors, researchers and innovators through providing
them with
scientific, administrative and financial facilities and to offer
them the possibility
of collaborative research.

Conduct and Promote applied researches.
- To
enhance the technological development in the country.
- To
bridge the gap among science, research and industry.
- To
act as a central coordinator of the activities of public agencies,
universities
and R&D organizations as well as private institutions for
industrial and
technological research.
- To
explore new industrial and economic fields while assigning them
appopriate priorities

provide technical and advisory services
- To
conduct joint research and to co-operate in scientific as well
as R&D
programmes both domestically and internatinally
- To
expand regional partnership and promote new technologies in the
region
by conducting joint venture programmes
- To
disseminate and transfer information and technical knowledge
- To
promote inter-disciplinary studies and coopertion in the country
