Amir Moussavian
CEO
MIR3, Inc.

At 38, Amir Moussavian is currently the CEO of San Diego-based MIR3, Inc., (www.mir3.com) the technology leader in Intelligent Notification(tm) software solutions for guaranteed event message delivery and response.
In 1997, Moussavian funded Contigo Software. He became Chairman and CEO, and in March 2000, sold the company to Raindance (NASDAQ: RNDC.) Prior to Contigo, he founded AngelHawk Investments, Inc., a Del Mar-based venture capital investment firm that specialized in technology companies.
In 1995, Moussavian made the cover of the business section of the San Diego Business Journal (SDBJ) in an article written by Ken R. Wells. He has also been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune and the San Diego Blade Citizen. The SDBJ article, entitled, "Man with a Velvet Touch," describes Moussavian's skill at running his new-founded HawkNet, Inc., a Carlsbad-based networking software developer. When revenues tripled that year to $7.5 million, BMC Software (NYSE: BMC) acquired the company deciding to purchase HawkNet's technology rather than to follow a "build your own" strategy. As a result, Moussavian's goal to have HawkNet acquired or to go public was actually accomplished within nineteen months, six months earlier than the anticipated twenty-four month goal. HawkNet's product is now included in the Knowledge Module of the entire suite of BMC's Patrol product line, the company's flagship product.
In 1989, Moussavian was recruited by GigaTrend, Inc., a 4mm DAT tape backup solutions provider, as the company's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Within three months, Moussavian became CEO of the company. Soon thereafter, Moussavian was promoted again, this time to CEO of GigaTape, GmbH, the worldwide parent company of GigaTrend with offices in Germany, France, London, and Taiwan. Worldwide revenues soon escalated to $8M and in 1993, the European operations of GigaTrend were sold to ADIC, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADIC.) While at GigaTrend, he was featured in Success Magazine as one of the industry's new, high-flying entrepreneurs. Today, GigaTrend continues to be a high performance network backup and storage solutions provider.
