Imani holds a Ph.D. in Optoelectronic Engineering and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona. In his nearly twenty years of involvement in the optical and electrical engineering fields, he has held various research assistantships and teaching assistantships at the Optical Sciences Center, Physics Department, and Electrical Engineering departments of the University of Arizona and Santa Clara University. In 1988, he founded Transoptics, Inc., focusing on the architectural design of optical thin film inspection systems.
