Nazanin
Afshin-Jam:
Nazanin
is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with
a double major degree in International Relations and Political
Science, including Scholarship studies at the prestigious
Institut d'Etudes Politique "Science Po" in Paris
and Herstmonceux Castle in England. Soon after completion,
she became a Global Youth Educator with the Red Cross, where
she teaches global issues such as the humanitarian crisis
of landmines, the poverty-disease cycle, children affected
by war and natural disasters.
This
year, she started her studies in Broadcast Journalism which
she has to put on hold upon being crowned Miss World Canada
and successively 1st runner up at Miss World- the highest
annually viewed broadcast with 2.2 billion viewers. It is
no wonder how well she did as Nazanin has received dozens
of awards and scholarships throughout her education, and
is an accomplished international model and actor. She is
a pilot, holding licenses for both powered aircraft and
gliders, and has achieved the highest possible rank in The
Royal Canadian Air Cadets as Warrant Officer First Class.
Nazanin has received many service awards for volunteer work
and has special training in public speaking, dance, competitive
sports and bush survival skills. Nazanin's passion is exploring
and has traveled extensively around the world. She speaks
English, French, Farsi and conversational Spanish.
In
the future, Nazanin plans to continue in the realm of international
affairs whether it is going into human rights or humanitarian
law, becoming a foreign correspondent, making documentaries
on humanitarian issues or joining the foreign services.
No matter what Nazanin decides, she is determined to make
a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable in the
world.
