iPass Extends Its Presence in Asia with New Alliance

SHORES, Calif., (July 22, 2001) -- iPass(tm) Inc., a premier
provider of carrier-grade remote access services, announced today
that Jitong Network Communications Company Limited, one of the largest
data, Internet and telecommunications companies in China, has teamed
with iPass to supply secure Internet roaming solutions to its business
customers throughout China.
iPass
will provide Jitong's expanding business client base with the ability
to remotely connect to their company intranets and applications
such as email, using a secure IP/VPN tunnel, with the ease and cost
of placing a local phone call from virtually anywhere in the world.
The service, branded by Jitong as the Corporate Global Roaming service,
features the award-winning iPassConnect(tm) client software which
provides access to over 14,000 unique points of presence (POPs)
worldwide. This easy-to-use interface, available in Simplified Chinese,
provides support for notebooks, desktops, handheld computers and
PDAs over dial-up, ISDN and broadband connections.

Center, now exceeds 20 million individuals. In addition to access
via computers, another 920,000 people in China are connecting to
the Internet using devices such as mobile telephones and home information
appliances.

Jitong Network Communications Company
Jitong Network Communications Company Limited is a leading full-service
data communications company in China. Jitong owns China Golden Bridge
Network (ChinaGBN) and is responsible for building, maintaining
and managing the ChinaGBN network, an optical fiber backbone network
