MANAGEMENT
Technology
Alliance Offers Corporations Cost-effective,
Real-time Communication Resource Provisioning, Management and Analysis
HAYWARD,
Calif. - (October 22, 2001) - IQ Labs, the leading Communication
Infrastructure Management (CIM) solution provider, and iPass Inc.¨,
a premier provider of next-generation remote access services, today
announced a technology alliance to provide corporations with secure,
cost-effective remote access to IQ Labs' Communication Infrastructure
Management (CIM) solution. This alliance will allow corporations
to significantly reduce the cost of managing employee communication
resources through a secure, web-based solution that can be used
and administered by non-technical staff.
Corporate
customers who use the iPass global network to access IQ Labs' Infrastructure
Management (CIM) solution are able to securely provision and manage
employee communication resources remotely using the corporation's
Virtual Private Network (VPN). iPass enables corporations to avoid
expensive long-distance connections by providing access to IQ Labs'
Communication Infrastructure Management solution via a local Internet
access point. iPass offers the world's largest remote access network
with more than 14,000 dial-up, ISDN, PHS, Wi-Fi and wired broadband
access points in 150 countries. Access to the network is available
through a single client interface, iPassConnect, which is compatible
with multiple devices including laptops, PDAs and desktops.
"Corporate
workforces are increasingly decentralized and mobile -- demanding
reliable, secure and cost-effective ways to conduct business, said
Farzad Naimi, chairman and CEO of IQ Labs. "The extensive reach
of the iPass global network adds tremendous value to our solution
by allowing customers to connect quickly, securely and easily to
their corporate networks to self-provision or manage employee communication
resources in real-time from virtually any location in the world."
The
IQ Labs Communication Infrastructure Management (CIM) solution reduces
the cost of managing employee communication resources by automating
the costly, cross-departmental resource management process. Gartner
Group estimates that each provisioning change within a Global 2000
organization costs an average of $200. The IQ Labs CIM solution
shrinks the communication resource provisioning process from days
to minutes and enables non-technical staff to manage resources in
real-time across diverse platforms. The IQ Labs CIM solution improves
the corporation's control over the communication infrastructure
through real-time employee access privilege controls. Corporate
executives are able to optimize communication resources through
web-based resource utilization views, reports and analysis. Workforce
productivity increases as employees are able to access and reserve
communication resources in real-time via any Internet connection.
"IQ
Labs' mission of empowering companies to manage communication resources
in real-time dovetails perfectly with our technology solution,"
said Michael Mansouri, chairman and CEO of iPass. "By marrying IQ
Labs' Communication Infrastructure Management solution with the
iPass global remote access network, , we can add substantial value
and services to both of our customer bases."
The
award-winning iPassConnect client software provides interoperability
with leading personal firewall, anti-virus and VPN solutions, including
those from Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks, Microsoft, Check Point,
ISS, Intel and Lucent. iPass users receive the reliability and redundancy
