FASTRAMP AND NEUGEN TEAM WITH GUIDETECH TO DEVELOP GRAPHICAL TEST INTERFACE FOR FEMTO TIA ON AGILENT 93000 PLATFORMS

New capability streamlines test development for direct time measurements on Agilent test systems

Singapore and Milpitas, California, October 1, 2002 - FastRamp Test Services, a subsidiary of ST Assembly Test Services Ltd. ("STATS" - NNM: STTS and SGX: ST Assembly Company), in conjunction with Neugen, Inc, a contract test engineering development company, and GuideTech, Inc., the leading innovator in high-performance time interval analyzer (TIA) instruments, have jointly developed a Graphical Test Interface designed to simplify test development on Agilent test systems.

"FastRamp is focused on helping customers streamline their test development cycle," said Mark Kelley, General Manager of FastRamp Test Services. "We had a unique opportunity to work with GuideTech and Neugen on the development of a tool that would have a direct benefit to our customers as well as the industry as a whole. The Graphical Test Interface provides for significantly faster development and debug of critical timing tests targeted for high volume production. "

Also known as Test Methods, Graphical Test Interface provides a new level of flexibility and functionality in high-end test development on Agilent 93000 SOC test systems. Specifically designed for the GuideTech Femto systems, Graphical Test Interface offers a user-friendly environment in which test engineers can easily leverage complex programming capability such as C-language to achieve cost-effective, high-performance test measurements.

Based on patented TIA technology, the GuideTech Femto systems offer flexible, high throughput, precision signal analysis capability to test high speed and timing critical devices in production Automated Test Equipment (ATE) environments. Tests developed with the new Graphical Test Interface provide the same exceptional throughput customers have come to rely on from GuideTech Femto time measurement systems.

"The basis behind the Graphical Test Interface is to provide a much simpler and quicker way to get high performance time measurements up and running and reduce the critical test development cycle for customers," said Steve Palosh, GuideTech Applications Engineering Manager. "Providing this new capability significantly improves the efficiency of test engineers who previously had to program Femto systems in high level C functions through Agilent User Functions."

About Neugen

Neugen is a contract test program development company that specializes in Mixed Signal and Digital test program development for many different ATE platforms including Agilent, Teradyne, Credence, NexTest, and GuideTech. Neugen also will provide, Simulation to Test, Test Program Translation, Silicon Debug, Device Characterization, Yield Enhancement, Throughput Optimization and Onsite Training. Neugen is the official test program development partner of FastRamp Test Services. For more information on Neugen, please visit the company's Website at http://www.neugen.com, or contact David Hiltner, President of Neugen at (503) 521-0681.

About GuideTech

GuideTech is the only independent company focused on the advancement of precision time interval analyzer (TIA) instruments for semiconductor test applications. Based on true TIA technology, GuideTech provides datacom and consumer semiconductor device manufacturers with the solution they need to characterize device jitter and critical signal timing and to render precision timing tests economical in production. GuideTech Femto products accomplish this by dramatically improving test throughput via fast measurement rates and increased parallelism, and by providing the critical, high-speed precision timing test coverage often lacking in ATE systems and competing lab instruments. Founded in 1988 and with over a thousand instruments installed worldwide, the company is the first to deliver a high throughput characterization-quality timing measurement solution to the production ATE market. For more information on GuideTech, please visit the company's Website at http://www.guidetech.com, or call (408) 733-6555 x250.
